Firstly absolutely love that first early collage! So cool. Sorry to hear about this change of plan - annoying to be psyched up for something only to have to re-arrange thoughts and plans to more specific, different worries and concerns. I feel sure though you'll make good use of the "Pause" button! And yes, we're all wiser than we think by now xo
Curious about that 1st piece... I plugged 44°20'00.0"N 68°05'00.0"W into Google Maps and got approximately Winter Harbor ME... is Schoodic Head a personal Point Of Interest?
Maybe it's just a routine precaution, given your history? I had a nuclear stress test once, after a fainting spell on the treadmill. It revealed nothing and I haven't had the problem again. Keep me posted.
Thanks Lesley! I think all will be well. I'm lucky I can just sit around and write-- also I just f&*#ed up my knee last week.. a little tear of some sort. So now I'm hobbling, but mostly sitting at the keys;....
Wow… Karen! Your Art work is brilliant and truly stunning! They’re both great pieces here but especially I love that bottom one!
And, “how like life, art”!
It is so interesting how you are dealing with issues you were somehow, unconsciously aware of maybe as a younger you? That you would one day be contending with for real?
Sending you good thoughts and prayers for your med team that they look after you well!
Meanwhile, I really look forward to hearing about how your art floated you in your life experiences!
Thank you Jody... the stuff that happens when we are not paying attention, right? I've discovered it has deep meaning going forward. Life lessons, art lessons...
Sounds like you will be making good use of the time you've been given to reflect more on your gifts and strengths. Yes, you have to put up with the annoyance a little longer than planned but ensuring the hardworking heart is up to the task is pretty important. Continued prayers for you and Ginger.
You are a very brave soul, Karen Rand Anderson. You are also an ever-creative one. Keep that in mind as you reflect on your career in art, and also now write about it for others.
Wishing you the best in all of this. I do love the way "with heart involved" is a multi-faceted comment. I've had one of those tests, not difficult but the feeling of all those chemicals in my body was a bit stressful. They gave me an IV right afterwards, I was in the hospital--fluids to help flush it all out. Sending white light and positive vibes. .
I am so glad you are still playing around with hearts and hands. Karen that does sound frustrating. You seemed so ready.
Thank you for displaying your art for all its fun and gorgeous .
Good luck with the next steps or should I say fingers?

MDI is a very important place for me — been going there for over 40 years , and a lot of my art references it ! landscapes , collages , assemblages.

Yep, they just want to make sure everything is hunky dory. Glad to know you've had one and that it showed all was well! xo
These pieces are stunning!
Thanks so much, Susan! At some point I will start making art again...
Bummer. What will be, will be. Man plans, God laughs, and all those not so uplifting quotes. Take care and fingers crossed for good ❤️ results.

A heartfelt message from Judith
Your words always hold weight and care, Judith.. I sooo appreciate your support. Thank you for following along on this winding path I'm on! xo

Thank you Walker! 🩵
The collages are beautiful. I love the mixed media.
Many thanks, Carol! Perhaps someday I'l return to making pieces like that. These are from long ago..
I think making art has kept a lot of us sane. It has been as insightful as therapy (said by someone who has never seen a therapist) for me at least!
Hope that soon you can look at these physical problems as things in the past--like you said, if it isn't one thing it's another..sigh.......
No doubt that art-making (like writing) helps us navigate the process of living! Thank you Ann-Marie... 🩵
