Hi Karen, my friend just recommended this book to me. I feel serendipitous, but I came across your post. She also told me about the Netflix movie called American Symphony, which is a documentary about Suleika (sp) and her husband Jon Batiste.
I’ve committed to many 100-day challenges over the years, mostly for Hot Yoga, because my body needs to move. When it comes to writing and sitting at a desk, I still haven’t learned how to overcome interruptions. I love the practice of meeting discomfort.
I look forward to reading. Thank you for a sweet essay.
Jon Batiste…. An extraordinary musician/artist. He headed the music on Steven Colbert’s Late Show for years— he and Suleika have a fascinating history, too! I’m about halfway through her Book of Alchemy. I’ll be writing another post about it this week. I know you will find immense value in it! 💫
Hi Lani... thank you! I am on day 48 now. (I missed one or two) Each day I congratulate myself 👏 And the practice is definitely bringing nourishment and joy!
Thanks you for subscribing to Continuing Wonderment. I admire your writing and positive spirit!
This looks inspiring! Thanks so much for sharing, Karena. And I think you are the most prolific journal writer I have ever met! In my world that is quite the creative practice and a commitment to one.
Well thank you Linda! Not sure just how prolific a journal writer i actually am, or why, but somehow I've managed to keep at it on and off for all these years. The challenge is how to make it valuable... 🤔
I don't have this book either, but I am sparked to check it out! I love the way you write - it feels like a sunny afternoon in the garden. Thank you for sharing.
Oh I love that, a sunny afternoon in the garden! especially as i no longer have a garden (at least I do have a balcony with some pots to plant.) Thank you Molly!
I do not have the book - yet - but I loved her first book and she writes beautifully. Such courage and resilience too. Love her Substack as well as the people commenting there.
It's humbling to say the least.
Very impressed that you've done this for yourself - you should be proud :)
Also an excellent and worthy distraction from the state of the world.

Yes, I will and thank you for correcting the spelling. They are new to me, and I feel blessed to have this connection. Thank you.
Hi Karen, I hope the practice bring nourishment and joy! 🌟Please give us updates, too!
